Cat Eyes and Kitten Heels
Fashion and crafting are my life and I really don't know how to live without them. I found the cutest little site on pinterest called eat drink chic check her out! Right now im in Cali and enjoying the weather. For all those girlies out there that love beachy looking hair, here's my fave DIY. This summer my colors are peach and teal. They look great on any clothing. I'm also digging the black and white stripes inspired by Marc Jacobs. Quick fashion tip: vertical stripes are slimming. A couple weeks ago, I thought to myself "hello Sophia, its summer" (silly me :) I NEED to paint my toenails so I found a color by Essie called lapis of luxury and immediately fell in love!! One of life's little disappointments: two things i hate in fashion: plaid and stripes and knockoffs. Anyway, my Dad bought a super cheap Louis Vuitton keyholder. I was so exited until we took it to the store and... its too sad I cant even finish. But at least I learned a lesson some people are not to trust. Lesson #1 : how to tell the difference between a real Louis and a fake. The logo has to be exactly centered, but dont be fooled some knockoffs look very real! Also smell it to see if it has real leather. At the airport on our way to LA, we played a little game where we punched each other for every designer piece we saw. For example, Dior sunglasses, Gucci hobo bag, Hermes scarf, Lilly Pulitzer notebook, Burberry coat, Vera Bradley duffel, Juicy hoodie, Jimmy choos or Vera Wang wedding dress (just kidding on that last one.)
It's snowing!! Well it's not just any snow, but Atlanta snow. Very rare stuff! Anyway, speaking of snow I'm going to NYC!! The reason this is so important is, I'm going to the vogue headquarters!! How fun does that sound. I will totally write about it!!
What does fashion say?
Today I want to chat about the style. This fall\winter trend seems to only be chillin in a North Face jacket and Uggs. The style has been a little layd off if you ask moi! Anyway I've been chillin in leggings, Betsy Johnson boots and a circle scarf. Whats your 2013 fall trend? Ok, earth to Sophia lets REALLY talk fashion. How to find the PERF winter outfit: go for darker colors like burgundy, black, brown, navy and light ones like white, cream and grey. I suggest black leggings and a caramel colored chunky sweater. for detail you can add a circle scarf. And as shoes go, its up to you! I saw these ADORABLE Steve Madden boots at DSW that would work. To add a bit of pattern top it up with a nice Vera Bradley bag. Voila! Hello 2014 fashion! I can't wait for the new year. Whats your biggest resolution? Guess what! This awesome youtuber Bethany Mota just recently launched her new line at Aeropostale go check it out! See y'all next year!!!!
Hello there, yes I'm talking to you. You know how all designers have a quote, well I've decided to make my own. " I don't use mannequins, I use dress forms". Clever huh. This means I don't buy clothes (off mannequins), but I make my own (using dress forms). OK now you can say how clever (and modest) I am. Anyway I have news, did you know Keds came out with a line of Kate Spade shoes? well if you didn't, now you do :)
The Shopping Life
Yesterday I found myself at an adorable chic store. First of all when we walked in, they offered us Tea, coffee, water or hot chocolate (I went for the tea :) We are shopping for a bar mitzva dress for Esther and I. The store is called 310 Rosemont in Atlanta G.A. they had cute brown and turquoise m$m's that said 310 on them. they sold designers like Marc Jacobs, Micheal Kors and Free People. Random trivia: Do you ever wonder where jeans come from? Well in about a second you will. I was exited to hear in french class that we were talking about jeans. Mademoiselle told us that it all started in a place called Niemes. A man by the name of Levi Strauss found a fabrick called denim. And thats how you get jeans!!! just random trivia :)
Interview with Tammy
I interviewed my friend Tammy, a fashion designer.
style: I like natural colors like earth tones and patterns like leaves and bugs (much like Tory Burch's fall line). Tammy is an artist/seamstress and makes or let's say refashions her clothes. She prints on her clothes with leaves and has an eclectic style. Tammy uses non-traditional sewing to make her recreated fashions. Inspirations: I like to read Vogue and W magazines for inspirations she also gets inspirations from the outdoors. Tammy's favorite designer is Alabama Chanin. History: Tammy lived in Africa for 6 and a half years and got inspirations from museums. Her mother made all of her clothes so there was a lot of sewing going on in her house. She has a Bachelors degree in Graphic Design and is a full time working artist!! check out Tammys blog!!!
